Had a good catch up on your blog this morning waiting for it to warm up a bit here before I venture into the garden before it snows! Yes, really the forecast is snow today! How lucky you are to have the sun warming your bones during the day and the crackling fire warming your toes at night! School sounded fun – probably more so that whewn you had to go to school in good “old” days! Great photos too and good to keep in touch with what you’re up to. Yup – can see why you’re not living in your bodega yet but all in good time!

Hi – me again!! Is no-one else out there??
Loved the walk blog as you can imagine – how strange life can be – as I was only a few mins earlier looking up the pics of our trip to the Brecon Beacons and the walk to see the crashed Wellington bomber. There are a couple of really good pics of me and Belinda at the top with the most amazing views and another of the both of you. The reason for looking at these——is that we have bought little Alan a digital photo frame for Christmas and I was looking for photos to load into it —and a couple from the Brecon’s will do nicely!!

Heard a lot about the famous blue hole in Belize but never been there, so we are looking forward to your comments ! We will be in Egypt end of January, beginning February and then in November we are going to Socorro Islands (Mexico). So I still have some time to improve my Spanish !

You certainly are having some experiances that us oldies may have a problem coping with. We found Oman so safe and never a worry about security. On our last few days in Dubai and don’t really want to go back to the cold of Spain.

Oh my days Toby!! That beard is getting a bit drastic…seriously u really dont look like the toby i know any more. If its only taken two months to get like that, i am slightly scared of what it will look like in 6 months! If the beard gets much bigger it will need its own passport!! With every sentance I read on your blog, I grow more and more jealous of the wonders and sights you are seeing with each passing day. I am so glad that you are having a wonderful time and to be perfectly honest you couldn’t have fled this country in search of your dreams at a better time. I am well and still working every hour I can to maintain my job as well as the house, its a struggle but compared to the work you have put into your lives since you were both 15, I’ve got a while before i can start complaining.
I want to drive up and see you both when you are over for your daughters wedding, even if I only get an hour with you i will make the trip. I really can’t wait to see you again and remember that no matter what you see that impresses you round the world, there are people back home who’s lives you have left a bigger impression on and are greatful for your guidance and kindness.

. Sorry havent replied to your emails, been on the to-do list but as i am on here thought i would leave u this message instead. Yep all is fine with us! been a very hot weekend, don, tia & co came up to visit but broke down on the way up so didnt get here till 11ish on fri. Then did animals on sat morn (more rabbits died 
) then went to a bbq on sat pm (that had been arranged for weeks) was amazin weather for it. Don tried here bm dress etc on it fits & all is ok! woohooo!! then spent all day on sun in the park reading mags n lazying in the sun felt like i was on hol.
OMG its like less than 11 weeks now till the big day!! and 10 weeks on tues till we c u!! having pre wed pics taken on 26 july – we need to practice our smiles hahaha.

just read your blog, wow what a move. My partner and I are looking at moving out in 2011. It looks like you’re really living the dream. I first visited Ibiza in 1996 and fell in love with the place immediatley.
Rach is a teacher and can get into one of the local International schools. The problem is with myself, all i have ever done is sales, but am currently re-training as a graphic designer, i’m worried about not having work for myself. Have you found work easy enough?

There is work on the Island and would think as a graphic designer you would be OK, would be an advantage to speak Spanish I would think, but if not you could just go for the English speaking market maybe?

I typed in ‘Move to Ibiza’ as that is what I am planning to do with my wife and our little boy next year if all goes to plan.
As usual sometimes the plans take a battrering which gets you down, so you look for inspiration, and maybe I’ve found it!
Also, see that the blog entry before mine was from a guy called Karl, from 09 planning to move out there this year – If he clicked the notify button he would hopefully pick this entry up, as would be interested to know if he made it?!
I had a place near Santa Eularia for 8 years (Panorama, above Siesta) and know quite a few people in Sta E and on the island.
The plan is to come over as a real estate agent – wish me luck in this climate eh?!
Anyway, loved your blog – even though it’s a bit out of date for you guys now!!

We live near San Carlos, so know Santa Eulalia and Siesta well, keep in toucj and when you are here we can meet up and help in any way of we can.
I heard the other day from an estate Agent that prices are going up on Ibiza, it does not seem to be effected by the ‘crises’ and everyone is very upbeat about this summer saying it will be a good year! Ibiza does seem to be in its own ‘bubble’!

we have just come back from a ” tour du monde ” of 1 year. We have sold everything to go ! We had been wanting to travel since my husband and I met (ie. 38 years ago ) and after work, children and mortgage, we have finally done it. And it was magical !
On our return, we have decided with children and grandchild to move to Ibiza .
It seems we had the same kind of decision , as we also want to carry on travelling but only for a max of 3 months per annum ! to spend 1 year away from our family was the hardest !
Any advice on our move (due to be this summer ) with the family including pets !!!!

Wow what a great move and well done for making the ‘jump’!! We have never regretted it and love the life we now lead! Regarding Ibiza, what are you planning on doing here? It is a very good idea to have an in-come from another source, or savings as Ibiza will provide but maybe not all you need, especially during the very wonderful slow winter. Pets are easy to bring as long as they have the pet passport, expensive to fly them over, but by car easy (tip is to leave them in the car between Denia and Ibiza) as the dog accommodation is not very nice! Any further more specific help do ask and we will see if we can help you and meet you once you are here!
